A few honest answers
Questions people ask before signing up.
Do I need my own AI to use duetpad?
You bring your own AI — duetpad is the canvas, not the intelligence. It works with any AI that speaks MCP: connect it once and it reads and builds your canvas live, with genuine memory of it. No keys, no config. You'll want your own AI subscription to get the full experience; tools without MCP (v0, Bolt, Lovable) still get a clean exported brief.
I build in Cursor, Bolt or v0 — can I use duetpad?
Yes. If your tool speaks MCP, connect it for the live two-way duet: your AI reads and builds your canvas alongside you. For web builders like Bolt, v0 or Lovable, you build the canvas and export a clean, paste-ready brief into whatever you ship in.
Do I need to be technical to set this up?
No. Point your AI at duetpad and sign in — that's the whole setup. No keys, no config, nothing to install.
Is my work private?
Yes. Your canvas is yours and private by default — nothing's public unless you create a share link, and you can turn that off. Your projects aren't used to train any AI model, and the AI you pair runs under your own AI account, not ours.
What if my AI and I are working the same thing at once?
Whatever you're typing stays yours — your AI's changes never overwrite a field while your cursor's in it. Click out and its work catches up. You'll never lose a sentence mid-keystroke.
Is the canvas a whiteboard like Miro or FigJam?
No — it's the structure of a doc with the freedom of a whiteboard. Every card has a known shape (a decision records the call and why; a plan has stages), so your AI can actually read and build on it instead of guessing at sticky-note soup. Visual where it helps, structured where it counts.
Can I get my work out of duetpad?
Yes. duetpad syncs your project to a folder of clean markdown you can drop into any coding session — Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, v0, and more. Your work is yours, always.
What do I get, and what does it cost?
Everything that turns duetpad from 'try it' into 'work in it': unlimited projects, the any-kind engine (your AI inventing the right doc when a built-in one doesn't fit), and the build export — your whole canvas compiled into a brief, a CLAUDE.md and test scaffolds. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of the whole canvas, no card. After that it's $19/mo billed yearly ($228) — or $24/mo month-to-month — cancel anytime and keep access to the end of the period you've paid for.
